Democrats’ priorities have never been more out of touch. While Chicago descends into chaos, with gun violence and crime surging, their focus is laser-locked on a single social media post by former President Donald Trump.
On Saturday, Trump posted a meme on Truth Social that immediately sent Democrats into a frenzy—yet it was just one humorous, AI-generated image. The meme portrayed Trump as Robert Duvall’s character from Apocalypse Now, decked out in military uniform with helicopters hovering behind him.
Trump captioned it: “I love the smell of deportations in the morning…” He added, “Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR,” referencing his executive order renaming the Pentagon. The timing couldn’t have been more pointed: the federal government is reportedly considering sending National Guard troops to help tackle Chicago’s violent crime problem.
The reaction from Democrats was nothing short of hysteria. California Governor Gavin Newsom, seemingly glued to Trump’s Truth Social account, accused him of using troops as political pawns.
