Newly obtained emails expose how White House lawyers orchestrated a scheme to bypass safeguards in order to ram through one of Joe Biden’s most shocking decisions: the blanket commutation of 37 federal death sentences.
A President in Name Only
Biden’s late-term spree of pardons and commutations has already been criticized as reckless, rushed, and detached from reality. Reports revealed the president was largely clueless about the identities of the convicts he was freeing — many of whom were “violent gang leaders and people convicted of crimes involving killings, kidnapping and rape,” as The Washington Times previously noted.
But the latest revelation, uncovered by the New York Post, shows something even more disturbing: the White House was willing to manipulate official records to cover Biden’s absence from the process.
