Faithful Catholics across the world were holding their breath.

When Pope Leo XIV ascended to the papacy, many traditional believers thought the pendulum would finally swing back. After years of Pope Francis’s progressive drift, they hoped Leo would restore the Church’s spine and anchor it firmly on Scripture.
But their hopes didn’t last long.
A Clear Signal From the Vatican
This week, Pope Leo held a private audience with Jesuit priest Fr. James Martin — the same activist cleric who has been pushing for years to soften the Church’s teachings on homosexuality.
After the 30-minute meeting, Martin wasted no time telling reporters what message he claimed to have received from the new pontiff.
“I heard the same message from Pope Leo that I heard from Pope Francis, which is the desire to welcome all people, including LGBTQ people,” Martin told The Associated Press.
