Democrat Nadler QUITS Congress!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Reports suggest Nadler may throw his support behind his former aide, Micah Lasher, who could attempt to step into his old boss’s seat. That move would likely ignite a fierce Democrat primary battle in Manhattan, where open seats are rare and competition is expected to be cutthroat.

The New York Times described Nadler’s departure this way:

“Representative Jerrold Nadler, a New York Democrat who has been one of Congress’s leading liberal voices for three decades, will not seek re-election next year, heeding a call for generational change roiling his party.

The decision will mark the close of a 34-year congressional career that put Mr. Nadler at the center of major civil rights battles and three presidential impeachments. It will also almost certainly touch off a crowded primary fight over a rare open Democratic seat in the heart of Manhattan.”

While Nadler framed his decision as a move to give way to the next generation, he admitted he had second thoughts about leaving while former President Trump remains in the political spotlight. In his own words: “I hesitated to step aside when he believes that President Trump is threatening the foundations of democracy. But he said he had been persuaded it was time for a changing of the guard.”

Nadler was best known nationally for his role in the Trump impeachment saga. As Judiciary Committee Chairman, he aggressively pushed Democrats’ claims that Trump was a “dictator” and spearheaded the first impeachment effort during Trump’s presidency. Conservatives accused him of running a partisan witch hunt and weaponizing his position to attack Trump rather than legislate.

For years, Nadler embodied the Democrats’ far-left priorities—backing civil rights legislation, opposing conservative judicial nominees, and pushing aggressive investigations into Republican administrations. His exit now leaves a vacuum in Democrat leadership at a time when the party is fractured and scrambling to hold onto power.

The retirement of such a senior figure highlights just how much pressure Democrats face from within their own ranks. Calls for “generational change” are growing louder, as younger progressives demand control while establishment Democrats like Nadler, Pelosi, and Biden face mounting criticism over age and effectiveness.

Nadler’s decision not to seek another term closes the book on one of New York’s longest-serving political careers. But his legacy—especially his attacks on President Trump—will remain fresh in the minds of millions of Americans who saw him as one of the architects of the Democrats’ relentless war on the 45th President.
