But there was one massive problem—Tarlov didn’t bother to check who exactly she was defending. The man in question wasn’t just an innocent worker. He had a disturbing criminal past.
Former Trump adviser and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller wasted no time in calling her out, dropping the receipts for all to see. He directly confronted Tarlov online:
“Why are you defending a criminal illegal alien invader charged with sexually assaulting a child?”
According to the Department of Homeland Security, the illegal immigrant from Mexico had been arrested in Fairfax County earlier this year on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 13. He wasn’t some first-time offender either. The DHS report revealed he had already been caught and removed multiple times. He voluntarily returned to Mexico twice, had a final order of removal issued, and still snuck into the U.S. illegally three different times.
That’s the individual Jessica Tarlov chose to side with.
Once the truth came out, Tarlov scrambled to clean up the mess. She issued a half-hearted explanation, claiming she didn’t know about the man’s criminal history at the time of her post. She wrote:
“I didn’t know he was – the DHS memo on him came out hours after the video. Wouldn’t ever defend such a person! Hopefully you guys will only go after these types versus hardworking folks that have committed no crimes! Will delete my original tweet.”
But that wasn’t the end of it. Facing mounting criticism, she tried to spin things again, insisting she didn’t try to quietly cover her tracks. Tarlov posted another explanation:
“For those of you who think that I quietly deleted my tweet, see below. When you’re trying to be quiet you don’t reply to Stephen Miller. I wouldn’t ever want to promote knowingly wrong information so I deleted the original tweet after the DHS memo came out – which was hours after the arrest.”
In the end, the damage was already done. Tarlov’s eagerness to jump on an anti-Trump narrative backfired spectacularly, showing once again the dangers of left-wing virtue signaling. Instead of waiting for the facts, she rushed to play politics—and wound up defending a man accused of one of the most heinous crimes imaginable.
This embarrassing episode highlights exactly why so many Americans have lost patience with liberal pundits. They’re more interested in attacking conservatives than protecting children, more focused on political points than the truth.
