The numbers prove his point. In five solidly blue states – New Jersey, Illinois, New York, California, and another unnamed – Trump received 43% of the vote. Yet Democrats control an astonishing 85% of congressional seats in those states.
“You cannot gerrymander these far left states anymore, and that’s the whole point,” Vance said.
Vance then turned to the most explosive part of his warning – the role of illegal immigration in tipping the balance of power.
Because the U.S. Census counts illegal aliens when deciding congressional representation, states like California end up with more seats in the House simply by harboring millions of people who aren’t even supposed to be in the country.
“California has way more House seats than it should because they have such a high population of illegal aliens,” Vance explained.
That means blue states that ignore immigration law get rewarded with more political clout, while law-abiding red states are punished with fewer representatives.
“So they get rewarded for welcoming illegal aliens into their state, giving them federal benefits, actually asking the taxpayers of states like Ohio to subsidize them,” Vance continued. “And then those same taxpayers in Ohio and Indiana and elsewhere, they have fewer congressional representatives because of what California has allowed to happen.”
The end result? Ohio taxpayers are essentially footing the bill to give California more power in Washington, D.C.
For years, Republicans refused to fight fire with fire, letting Democrats run circles around them. But Vance made it clear that the Trump administration is done with “unilateral disarmament.”
“We have unilaterally disarmed in the Republican Party,” he said. “We have said to the Democrats, if you want to rig the game in your favor in blue states, go ahead. We’re going to do nothing to fight back against it. That’s crazy.”
The solution, according to Vance, is straightforward but powerful:
- Redo the census without counting illegal aliens.
- Have red states redraw districts just as aggressively as blue states have for decades.
He pointed out that the flawed 2020 census undercounted Republican states like Florida and Ohio while overcounting blue states.
“If you actually did the census anew right now, you would have 10 additional Republican seats and nine fewer Democrat seats,” Vance revealed.
This battle isn’t just about partisan politics – it’s about the survival of representative democracy.
“The democratic system in this country is broken, because who you vote for doesn’t necessarily get reflected in who your representatives are,” Vance said.
The Left has already maxed out their gerrymandering advantage. “You know, Maria, there’s just not a whole lot of juice left out of that lemon. The Democrats have already gone as far as they possibly can,” he told Bartiromo.
If Republicans take action – stopping the census from counting illegal aliens and redrawing districts in their favor – the electoral map will finally begin to match the will of the American people.
Democrats are already sounding alarms about so-called “threats to democracy.” But as Vance and Trump see it, the only real threat is the system Democrats built to steal elections and silence voters.
That system’s days may be numbered – and the 2024 fight could be the moment it all comes crashing down.
