This whistleblower, described as friendly with both Schiff and former Republican committee chairman Devin Nunes, said he viewed the leaks as “unethical,” “illegal,” and “treasonous.” Despite his concerns, the staffer was told Schiff believed he was untouchable under the Constitution’s Speech and Debate Clause.
The memo also reveals that retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser, was a primary target. Schiff’s committee allegedly intended to use selective leaks to paint Trump’s team as compromised. Rep. Eric Swalwell was also named as a suspected leaker with a history of mishandling classified information.
One incident in summer 2017 stood out. The whistleblower said a highly sensitive document — viewed only by a small group, including Schiff and Swalwell — appeared in the press within 24 hours, “almost verbatim.” Swalwell was specifically warned before about his leaking reputation, yet the source believes he played a role in that breach.
The most damning allegation comes from a 2023 interview. The source recalled Schiff calling an all-staff meeting where he allegedly told the group they would “leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP” and that it would be used “to indict President TRUMP.”
In the end, the Justice Department reportedly refused to investigate, claiming congressional immunity. But the staffer insists these leaks were not protected speech under the law.
“For years, certain officials used their positions to selectively leak classified information to shape political narratives,” Patel told Just the News. “It was all done with one purpose: to weaponize intelligence and law enforcement for political gain.”
Legally, these allegations may be beyond the statute of limitations — but as we’ve seen with Democrats’ relentless pursuit of Trump over long-past claims, rules can change when political will demands it. Schiff’s “preemptive pardon” doesn’t cover this alleged misconduct, and without it, he may be vulnerable.
For years, Schiff has been one of the loudest voices pushing narratives that later collapsed under scrutiny. Now, with FBI memos pulling back the curtain, it’s looking like the man who once aimed to take down Trump may be facing his own day of reckoning.
