On December 7, 2016, official talking points prepared for James Clapper, then Director of National Intelligence, made it clear: “Foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the US Presidential election outcome.”
But less than 48 hours later, everything changed.
Obama Personally Ordered a Narrative Flip
On December 9, 2016, President Obama reportedly held a high-level meeting with his National Security Council. From that meeting came a new directive: ignore previous intelligence conclusions and create an entirely new story—one that tied Trump to Russian interference.
As revealed in the documents, Clapper’s Executive Assistant sent an urgent message to the Intelligence Community: the President wanted a fresh assessment “per the President’s request” detailing how Moscow had supposedly influenced the election.
And just like that, the original intelligence was buried.
A Fabricated Report Fueled a Years-Long Political War
Within weeks, the Intelligence Community released a brand-new assessment, dated January 6, 2017, which made sweeping claims that Russia interfered in the election specifically to help Trump. But according to Gabbard, that report “directly contradicted the IC assessments that were made throughout the previous six months.”
Worse still, it leaned heavily on the discredited Steele dossier—a document even top intelligence brass admitted was based on “internet rumor.”
Gabbard didn’t mince words: “The information we are releasing today clearly shows there was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of our government.”
Media Complicity and Political Fallout
As the report gained traction, Obama’s team allegedly fed it to their allies in corporate media. Outlets like The Washington Post ran anonymous-sourced stories fanning the flames of Russian collusion hysteria.
Behind the scenes, Obama-era heavyweights—James Comey, John Brennan, Susan Rice, and Clapper—pushed the narrative despite knowing it was fabricated. The fallout? A federal investigation, two impeachment efforts, and the destruction of reputations and careers.
General Michael Flynn. Carter Page. Countless others dragged through the mud by a lie.
And now the evidence is here.
The Left Tries to Contain the Firestorm
The Obama camp fired back, dismissing Gabbard’s revelations as “outrageous” and “ridiculous.” But their silence on the specific evidence speaks volumes. Senator Mark Warner and Rep. Jim Himes parroted stale talking points—claims that prior investigations cleared the intelligence community—yet those probes never had access to the documents Gabbard just exposed.
Republicans, meanwhile, are circling the wagons. Senator Mike Lee said on X: “My friend @DNIGabbard brings receipts when calling the Deep State to account for what she fairly describes as a ‘years-long coup against Trump.’” House Speaker Mike Johnson even floated the idea of subpoenaing Obama himself.
DOJ Criminal Referrals Incoming
Gabbard has handed over all evidence to the Department of Justice, urging immediate criminal referrals.
Her statement was clear: “No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Trump himself called Obama’s actions “treason” and warned it’s “time to go after people” responsible for this unprecedented abuse of power.
The American people have long suspected the collusion narrative was manufactured. Now, with hard evidence in hand, those suspicions are no longer conspiracy—they’re confirmation.
This is no longer just about Trump. It’s about the integrity of our elections, our institutions, and our republic. If the DOJ fails to act now, it sends a dangerous message: that in America, some people are above the law.
And if that’s true, the Republic as we know it may never recover.
