The White House is clapping back at California Democrat Adam Schiff after he demanded financial disclosures for senior administration officials, with Trump allies and Republicans flipping the script and spotlighting House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s controversial stock trades.
Schiff recently sent a letter to White House Counsel David Warrington and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, insisting the administration hand over records related to financial disclosures. He expressed “continued and growing concern regarding… failure to submit any financial disclosure reports for senior White House officials to the Office of Government Ethics within the statutorily mandated period.”
The lawmaker demanded a list of officials required to file new entrant reports, details explaining any “failure to transmit” those filings, and information on penalties for delinquent reports. Schiff noted he joined a previous bipartisan effort pressing the White House for similar records.
