NATO Just FLIPPED the Script on Democrats!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Yes, you read that right. NATO’s top leader is publicly thanking Trump for pushing the alliance to get serious about its defense obligations.

Rutte made it clear that Trump’s work isn’t just a thing of the past — it’s laying the groundwork for the future. “And tomorrow we will build on this foundation and add trillions more in defense spending because we need to do this.” That kind of forward momentum is a direct result of Trump’s firm stance and refusal to accept Europe’s freeloading.

Trump Survivor Coin

In fact, Rutte even added that the new investments will “be a massive achievement in making NATO fairer” — another Trump talking point that was mocked for years.

The facts are damning for Trump’s critics. In 2024 alone, NATO’s combined defense spending hit $1.474 trillion. Of that, U.S. taxpayers covered a whopping $968 billion, while Europe and Canada contributed only $507 billion. That’s an almost 2-to-1 imbalance.

And despite years of promises, only 22 out of 32 NATO countries met the 2% GDP defense spending benchmark set back in 2014 after Russia invaded Crimea.

Democrats tried to paint Trump as reckless when he pushed for equal contributions. But Rutte himself admitted the former president was absolutely right. Speaking to NPR, Rutte said, “Rightly, the U.S. has complained. Particularly, President Trump has been very clear on this — that he expects Europeans and Canada to pay more, to step up in terms of their overall defense spending, and that is going to happen.”

When asked about U.S. loyalty to NATO, Rutte crushed another liberal narrative. “100% on both issues: the membership of NATO, and a total commitment to Article 5. Four weeks ago I was also visiting President Trump in the White House and he was very clear on this.”

Trump’s leadership didn’t just spark conversation — it spurred real change. Poland now leads the alliance by spending 4.12% of its GDP on defense. Estonia follows at 3.43%, with the U.S. at 3.38%.

Now, Trump is demanding even more. He wants NATO members to hit 5% of GDP — and they’re listening. Rutte confirmed there’s “broad support” for Trump’s 5% target across the alliance.

“The expectation is that we in Europe and Canada will indeed equalise in spending with the US. And we have to do that, not only to equalise, but we need that 3.5 core defence spending to be able to deliver the capability targets,” Rutte added.

By forcing NATO to invest in its own security, Trump is freeing the U.S. to confront new threats in Asia. Rutte explained, “whilst the Europeans are stepping up, spending more, making sure that we can deliver more of the overall capabilities we need to deliver as NATO as a whole, it’s only logical for the U.S. to pivot more towards Asia.”

He added, “we are spending more for them to pivot more towards, for example, the Indo Pacific over time, step by step.”

That’s the kind of strategic thinking Trump has pushed from the beginning. It’s not about isolation — it’s about prioritization.

Democrats spent years crying that Trump was tearing NATO apart. But now NATO’s own Secretary General is giving Trump full credit for making the alliance stronger, more capable, and finally fair to U.S. taxpayers.

The evidence is overwhelming — Trump led, Europe followed, and NATO is better off for it. No wonder the Left is fuming. Their narrative just got nuked by the very alliance they claimed Trump was destroying.
