Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was rushed to a medical facility Tuesday following what officials described as an allergic reaction. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed her hospitalization and said the decision was made out of “an abundance of caution.” At this time, there’s no confirmed explanation for what triggered the reaction.
Tricia McLaughlin, DHS Assistant Secretary, told Fox News Digital that the Secretary was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was alert during transport. She is currently under medical care and is expected to recover. However, there has been no official statement on when she might be discharged.
Noem’s sudden health scare quickly drew reactions from allies and conservatives across the country. Bruce LeVell, a close Trump ally and former Executive Director of the National Diversity Coalition for Trump, issued a heartfelt message on X, formerly Twitter.
“My dear friend @Sec_Noem, our fearless Secretary of Homeland Security, was just rushed to the hospital,” LeVell posted. “My heart is with her during this challenging time, but I know her strength and determination will shine through. Please join me in keeping Kristi in your prayers for a swift and full recovery.
“She has been tirelessly spearheading @realDonaldTrump initiative to uphold law and order and utilize ICE to keep our country safe from criminals. Let’s stand strong for her, just as she’s stood strong for America.”
