FBI spokesman Ben Williamson confirmed the move, saying, “The FBI has been committed to supporting our partners in immigration enforcement and will remain so.”
The unprecedented decision places America’s top law enforcement agency on the front lines of one of the nation’s most urgent crises — the unchecked flow of illegal migrants pouring through the southern border, a crisis many argue was fueled by President Biden’s disastrous policies.
In fact, the scale of the federal pivot is sweeping. Breitbart News noted that other federal agencies have also been ordered to contribute manpower, data, and logistics to immigration operations. That includes the IRS, following a green light from a federal judge allowing tax data to be used in locating undocumented migrants.
Back in February, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made waves when she revealed that the IRS would be enlisted in enforcement efforts — an extraordinary step that demonstrates just how serious the Trump team is about restoring border security.
State and local police aren’t sitting this one out either. Through the 287(g) program, more than 450 local law enforcement agencies are now directly involved in helping ICE detain and deport illegal aliens, a massive collaborative effort not seen since Trump’s first term.
Tom Homan, the administration’s outspoken border czar, recently offered chilling insight into the real-world impact of Biden’s lax policies. Speaking at the Republican National Lawyers Conference in Washington, D.C., Homan described a gut-wrenching case ICE uncovered just days ago.
WATCH:
“We just found one two days ago. A 14-year-old little girl. Living with two adult males. Who trafficked her,” he said. “We found her, she’s pregnant. From trafficking being forced into prostitution. 14 years old. We are taking care of her. Both physically and mentally.”
Homan didn’t mince words about the scale of the horror.
“Despite what the media says, we are not heartless. We care about these kids. I am a father,” he said. “That s**t (human trafficking) is happening every day. We are going to put an end to it. Everything we can do,” he added.
Since President Donald Trump returned to office, the shift in border activity has been staggering. According to new DHS data, illegal migrant encounters have plunged by 93%, “gotaways” have dropped by 95%, and overall illegal crossings have plummeted by an astounding 99.99%.
But there’s still a long road ahead.
In an April White House briefing, Homan warned that millions of illegal immigrants remain embedded in American communities, with hundreds of thousands carrying criminal records.
He said, “I believe there are at least 20 million illegal aliens in the country, including about 700,000 with criminal charges ‘walking the streets.’”
As Patel rallies the FBI to join the front lines of immigration enforcement, it’s clear the Trump administration is no longer content with simply securing the border — it’s going after every broken policy and every dangerous loophole left behind.
And for the criminal cartels, traffickers, and repeat offenders who flourished under the Biden regime’s chaos, their days are numbered.
