FPÖ spokesman for security policy, Hannes Amesbauer, delivered a stark warning: “Austrians will soon be strangers in their own country.”
Right-wing activist Martin Sellner didn’t hold back either:
“Muslim majority in Viennese schools. 10 years ago, it was only secondary schools. Five years ago, it was only the elementary school. Now all schools—tomorrow the whole city. This is a brutal population replacement. An illegal settlement policy that destroys our culture and the sovereignty of our people. The biggest crime of the 21st century. Remigration will stop it.”
The data, released by Vienna’s leftist-controlled city council, confirmed what many families already sense—Austria is losing control of its cultural and national identity, one classroom at a time.
Christian students now make up just 34.5% of schoolchildren in Vienna, with Catholics at 17.5% and Orthodox Christians at 14.5%. Meanwhile, over 23% claim no religion at all, and only fractions identify as Jewish, Buddhist, or other minority faiths.
Critics argue this isn’t about religious diversity anymore—it’s about cultural displacement. In many schools, German is now a secondary language. Teachers are overwhelmed. Discipline is deteriorating. And Austrian traditions are taking a back seat.
Educators and parents are sounding the alarm. In classrooms dominated by non-German-speaking students, teaching has become nearly impossible.
Evelyn Kometter, head of Austria’s National Parents’ Association, described the dire situation:
Teachers, she said, have to “repeat a sentence 10 to 12 times until it is finally understood. But by then, two-thirds of the lesson is already over.” In one case, a mother revealed that only three out of 22 students in her child’s class spoke German.
And it’s not just language that’s being lost. Reports from schools detail a spike in violence, antisemitism, misogyny, and intolerance toward LGBTQ students—often coming from radicalized migrant backgrounds.
Even officials from Vienna’s progressive NEOS party are growing concerned.
“In Vienna, no one should base their way of life on the fundamentalist interpretation of religious texts that are hostile to women, minorities, the state or democracy,” admitted Bettina Emmerling, Vienna’s Councillor for Education. She noted a “growing rejection of gender equality and democratic norms” among many Muslim students.

Despite the chaos, Austria’s left-leaning government refuses to confront the real issue. Rather than halting unchecked migration or enforcing real assimilation, they’ve unveiled a feel-good curriculum called “Living in a Democracy,” aiming to teach schoolchildren about tolerance and diversity.
Critics argue the move is little more than a band-aid on a bullet wound.
“This is the direct result of replacement migration, asylum abuse, and the denial of reality by the SPÖ, ÖVP, and Greens,” said FPÖ’s Weinzierl. “Even together with other Christian European migrants, our children are fewer than non-European Muslims. In more and more school classes, our values are becoming secondary, and our children are being marginalized by migrants.”
The situation in schools has become so dire that teachers are walking away from the profession in record numbers.
Thomas Krebs, a union representative for educators, painted a bleak picture:
“On one peak day, I even received 20 reports of staff resigning for the coming school year.”
Yet instead of stopping the flood of non-assimilating migrants, Austria’s ruling class is building more schools, paving over parks, and cramming students into container classrooms.
“They can think of nothing better to do than to plow up the last green spaces and sports facilities for schools,” Krebs warned.
With every new statistic, it becomes harder for the political class to deny what’s unfolding in plain sight. The heart of Austria is being hollowed out, and unless serious changes are made, many fear it may be too late to save it.
