Weldon’s claims center around “Able Danger,” a classified military intelligence program that he says identified al-Qaeda cells—including the one that operated out of New York—a year before the attacks. According to Weldon, the information was there. It just wasn’t acted upon.
“We identified every cell of al-Qaeda in the world the year before 9-11. We identified the New York cell a year before 9-11. We knew there was gonna be a problem,” he said.
That’s a stunning allegation—and one that flies in the face of the official narrative that 9/11 came as a complete surprise.
Even more disturbing, Weldon claims the Able Danger team tried to blow the whistle. But every time they attempted to inform the FBI or Department of Justice, they were stopped cold.
“The Able Danger team tried to go to the FBI and Justice Department three times,” Weldon stated. “We have the names. All three times they were stopped.”
Former FBI Director Louis Freeh also appeared to back Weldon’s concerns, writing in the Wall Street Journal that this intelligence “could have prevented 9-11 from happening.”
Tucker Carlson laid out what Weldon says was the price of trying to expose the truth. The Bush administration allegedly retaliated by targeting his family.
“At which point, the Bush administration sent the FBI to his daughter’s house, destroyed her life, never charged her with a crime, and effectively got Curt Weldon bounced out of Congress,” Carlson explained.
The raid on his daughter’s home came just weeks before Weldon’s re-election, which he lost. Weldon says the timing was no coincidence—and he believes it was a direct punishment for daring to question the official story.
Weldon also revealed the ordeal of Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, a Bronze Star recipient who was part of the Able Danger operation. According to Weldon, Shaffer was punished immediately after meeting with 9/11 Commission head Philip Zelikow.
“They had shut down his office, locked his office, secured all his files, and they then worked to destroy his personal reputation,” Weldon said.
Weldon was so outraged he took to the House floor to deliver a one-hour speech, declaring the scandal “bigger than Watergate.”
Weldon insists he has the receipts—charts from Able Danger that pinpointed al-Qaeda cells across the globe before the attacks. The implications are enormous. If this intelligence was real and intentionally ignored, it would mean Americans died because of politics—not incompetence.

Carlson, visibly shaken by the interview, made a commitment to dig even deeper.
“We recorded the interview you’re about to watch five days ago and I’ve been thinking about it ever since,” he said. “This is not a crazy person. These are not crazy questions.”
He announced plans for a “multi-part documentary series on 9-11,” calling for serious reflection and honest conversations with the officials who were there when it all happened.
“Now is the time for a sober look, not a wild-eyed speculative look, but an honest look and honest conversations with people who participated in the response to that day,” Carlson added.
Weldon’s eye-opening claims raise urgent questions that every American deserves answered: What intelligence did we really have before 9/11? Who stopped it from being used? And why did those who tried to warn us face ruin?
