ICE Takedown at Courthouse STUNS Everyone!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Colmenarez, who authorities confirm is in the United States illegally, was immediately handed over to ICE custody following the chaotic escape attempt. He was later transferred to a federal detention facility in Texas, where he is now awaiting further immigration proceedings.

A woman who witnessed the incident told local outlet News9 the entire scene was confusing and jarring. “I was confused,” she said. “It seemed like something was happening.” She described the moment agents subdued Colmenarez. “The only thing we really heard was the men in plain clothing yelling at the man on the floor that he shouldn’t have run – ‘Why was he running?’ – and to stay right there.”

The ICE agents involved were dressed in civilian clothing, blending into the courthouse crowd until the moment Colmenarez attempted to flee. That’s when they sprang into action—catching everyone around them off guard.

The federal agency later released a statement in response to media inquiries, saying ICE is “focusing all its law enforcement personnel on mitigating public safety threats and preserving the integrity of our immigration laws.”

According to The Boston Globe, the confrontation began when two men identifying themselves as federal agents approached Colmenarez inside the courthouse. Rather than cooperate, the Venezuelan national turned and tried to run. He didn’t get far. Within seconds, he was tackled and restrained on the courthouse floor.

New Hampshire Public Radio reported that the charges against Colmenarez stemmed from a prior arrest for driving under the influence—raising further concerns about the dangers posed by illegal immigrants with criminal records remaining freely in American communities.

Adding more detail to the incident, Hudson police officer Jered Neff, who was assigned to the courthouse as a liaison that day, documented his account of what happened in an official report. Neff said he heard a disturbance near the elevators and exited his office to investigate. That’s when he saw federal agents wrestling Colmenarez to the ground.

In his report, Officer Neff noted that the ICE agents were also working in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The agents told Neff they were targeting individuals without legal immigration status who were appearing at the courthouse for arraignments or legal hearings.

This incident is another stark example of the urgent need for serious immigration enforcement. Not only was Colmenarez illegally in the country, but he was also being arraigned on multiple public safety violations. Instead of complying with the legal process, he tried to flee justice—and endangered others in the process.

Americans deserve to know who’s entering our country and whether they pose a threat. In this case, it took a team of federal agents, coordination with local police, and a physical takedown in a public courthouse just to stop one man who never should have been here in the first place.

With law enforcement agencies stretched thin and border security policies under constant fire, incidents like these serve as a grim reminder: when the federal government fails to secure the border, chaos follows.
