In typical Schiff fashion, the California senator wasted no time attacking Trump’s announcement. Just hours after the tariff policy was revealed, Schiff erupted in anger after a question from a left-leaning reporter. The reporter asked whether White House officials were capitalizing on “market fluctuations” in the wake of the new tariffs. Schiff, seizing the opportunity, vowed to launch an investigation into whether Trump’s White House staff were involved in insider trading, alleging that they had foreseen the tariff shift ahead of time.
“I’m writing to the White House to demand who knew in advance the president was going to flip-flop on tariffs and if people are cashing in,” Schiff declared. “There is just all too much opportunity for people in the White House and the administration to be insider trading, and you can’t put it past them for a minute.”
Schiff, never one to shy away from accusations, continued his rant, making it clear that he was determined to get to the bottom of this alleged scandal. “So we’re gonna try to find out,” he promised.

Schiff’s rhetoric grew even more dramatic as he continued to hammer away at the Trump administration. “But an administration that has their own meme coins and has already engaged in self-interested dealing…in that kind of corrupt climate, you have to assume the worst,” he said, implying that the Trump team was engaging in corrupt activities.
However, it seems Schiff is choosing to ignore a glaring issue: the rampant insider trading that takes place within Congress itself, particularly involving former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi, among others, has been widely criticized for questionable stock trades made by her family members and her close associates, yet Schiff has remained silent on this matter.
