The left-wing media just can’t help themselves. Despite the U.S. Constitution clearly forbidding any president from serving more than two terms, liberal pundits and legacy outlets are once again stirring the pot with sensational claims that President Donald Trump is eyeing a third run at the White House in 2028.
Yes, really.
While the 22nd Amendment is crystal clear—no president can serve more than two elected terms—the press is trying to revive a dead narrative that has no legal foundation. The 12th Amendment even shuts down any hypothetical scenarios like Trump returning as Vice President under someone like J.D. Vance, only to ascend to the presidency again. It simply cannot happen, because the Constitution bars anyone “ineligible to the office of President” from serving as VP.

So why is the media pushing this fantasy?
Because it gives them another excuse to paint Trump as a so-called “threat to democracy,” despite his consistent commitment to the rule of law and constitutional boundaries. They’re using it to peddle more fear and distract from Joe Biden’s collapsing presidency and the Democrat Party’s fractured coalition.
But here’s what really happened.
During a recent press gathering, President Trump was asked an off-the-cuff question by a reporter. The hypothetical: If the Constitution were somehow amended to allow a third term, would Trump be interested in running—especially if his opponent were none other than Barack Obama?
