The order cited that transgender individuals often require lengthy medical treatments and procedures, which pull them away from duty. It also raised concerns about whether someone identifying as another sex could uphold the values expected of servicemembers.
The administration made it clear: “Beyond the hormonal and surgical medical interventions involved, adoption of a gender identity inconsistent with an individual’s sex conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life.”
But Judge Reyes didn’t care about facts, readiness, or military cohesion. Instead, she berated Justice Department attorneys and pushed her ideology from the bench — all while pretending it was based on law.
She exploded during court proceedings, slamming the administration for suggesting that biological males and females shouldn’t be forced to share showers or serve in intimate conditions in the field.
Then, like so many other activist judges, Reyes dropped the hammer with a sweeping nationwide injunction that forced the Trump administration to reverse course — essentially rewriting Pentagon policy from her bench in D.C.
Rather than cite legal precedent or provide a constitutional argument, Reyes launched into what sounded more like a left-wing op-ed than a legal ruling.
She wrote, “The court knows that this opinion will lead to heated public debate and appeals. In a healthy democracy, both are positive outcomes. We should all agree, however, that every person who has answered the call to serve deserves our gratitude and respect.”
Reyes didn’t stop there. She claimed, “Indeed, the cruel irony is that thousands of transgender servicemembers have sacrificed – some risking their lives – to ensure for others the very equal protection rights the Military Ban seeks to deny them,” and insisted that the government’s lawyers “have not shown they will be burdened by continuing the status quo pending this litigation, and avoiding constitutional violations is always in the public interest.”
The ruling sent shockwaves through conservative circles — and Hegseth, a former Army officer and current Fox News contributor, lit up social media with a scathing response.
Mocking the judge’s absurd power trip, Hegseth fired off this brutal takedown: “Since ‘Judge’ Reyes is now a top military planner, she/they can report to Fort Benning at 0600 to instruct our Army Rangers on how to execute High Value Target Raids…after that, Commander Reyes can dispatch to Fort Bragg to train our Green Berets on counterinsurgency warfare.”
Boom.
Hegseth’s sarcasm exposed the deeper issue: judges who think their job is to enforce ideology rather than interpret the law. While the Constitution grants the President authority as Commander in Chief, radical judges like Reyes think they know better.

And they’re not even trying to hide it anymore.
This isn’t about compassion. It’s about control.
Democrat judges have weaponized the bench to impose woke dogma on institutions that were never meant to be laboratories for social experiments — especially not the United States military.
Hegseth said what millions of Americans are thinking: If these judges are such experts on military tactics and readiness, let them suit up, report to duty, and lead the next mission themselves.
Until then, maybe they should stay in their lane — and stop pretending they outrank the President of the United States.
