A CBS News/YouGov poll disclosed a concerning sentiment regarding the president’s capabilities, highlighting that a large majority—72 percent—of Americans are skeptical about Biden’s “mental and cognitive health to serve as president.” This figure has risen by 7 percent in just the past three weeks. In stark contrast, opinions about former President Donald Trump’s cognitive capabilities are split, with an even 50 percent believing he is fit for the office.
The survey further reveals a strong resistance against a second Biden term across the political spectrum. A robust 72 percent of those surveyed expressed that Biden should not pursue reelection, surprisingly including 46 percent of his own Democratic party.
