In a harrowing turn of events that has shocked a small community in northern Indiana, a 14-year-old girl was rescued by law enforcement after being kidnapped by a group of undocumented immigrants. The incident, which unfolded over several states, ended with the arrest of five men on charges of felony kidnapping and child endangering.
The drama began when the group allegedly lured the young girl out of Logansport, Indiana—a town with a population just over 18,000, as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau. Police say the men had previously contacted the girl via social media, which led to their fateful meeting on Monday. Detective Jason Rozzi of the Logansport Police described the case as “an eye opener,” underlining the unexpected nature of such crimes in smaller communities.
