Chris Christie, a Republican running for president with slim chances of success, asserted with assurance that he had met the requirements to take part in the first primary debate of the 2024 election.
The former governor of New Jersey appears with Anderson Cooper on CNN to discuss his noteworthy accomplishment.

Cooper underlined that a candidate must receive at least one percent of the vote in several different national surveys in order to be eligible.
Additionally, those who want to see the stage must have a minimum of 200 individual donors and 40,000 separate donors in a minimum of 20 states.
Christie bragged that his campaign had crossed the finish line and was now doing better than it had in the 2016 primary.
“I am glad to be able to tell people tonight, Anderson, that last night we went past 40,000 unique donors in just 35 days, and it gives you some perspective because I ran eight years ago. In 35 days, eight years ago, we had 5,000 donors. We have over 40,000 donors now,” Christie told CNN.
“There is a donor in every state in America, and we have over 200 donors in 36 states,” the 60-year-old added. “So we have really broad support for the candidacy. We’re really thrilled about it.”
“The good news I think for the Republican Party is that means I’m going to be on the debate stage on August 23.”
After finishing sixth in New Hampshire, Chris Christie withdrew from the 2016 primary race in February. Seven percent of state voters supported his campaign, which was not very successful.

Christie disagreed in his Cooper interview with a criterion for the debate stage: committing support for the eventual Republican nominee.
Christie characterized the promise as an idiotic idea.
Previously, the candidate had stated that he would not take this vow seriously. He complained to the Republican National Committee about it.
“I’ll take the pledge in 2024 just as seriously as Donald Trump took it in 2016,” last month, Christie spoke with Jake Tapper of CNN.
Christie now has a 2.6 percent poll rating in the Real Clear Politics average.
A recent Economist/YouGov poll found that 22% of Americans from all socioeconomic backgrounds think favorably of Christie.
1,500 American adults were surveyed, and more than half had unfavourable opinions of the candidate, with the remaining group being unsure.
