The high school, located about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta, became the scene of chaos as students and staff scrambled for safety. Authorities confirmed by early afternoon that nine of the injured were taken to local hospitals. Tragically, four people, including two students and two teachers, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have identified the suspect as 14-year-old Colt Gray, a student at Apalachee High School. The young shooter reportedly surrendered without resistance when confronted by a school resource officer.
