New York City’s new far-left mayor wasted no time picking a fight with federal law enforcement.
Barely days into his administration, Zohran Mamdani lashed out after Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained a City Council employee who had no legal right to be in the United States.
Instead of standing with the rule of law or the safety of New Yorkers, Mamdani chose to side with an illegal alien who should never have been on the city payroll in the first place.

The controversy erupted after ICE agents detained 53-year-old Rafael Andres Rubio Bohorquez during a routine immigration check. Bohorquez is a Venezuelan national who overstayed a 2017 tourist visa and remained in the country illegally for eight years.
Despite lacking legal status, Bohorquez was somehow hired as a data analyst for the New York City Council. Public records show he also has an arrest for assault on his record.
