A never before released image tied to one of the most infamous criminal scandals in modern American history has quietly emerged from a massive federal document dump, sending shockwaves through political and media circles.
Buried inside millions of newly released government records was an unseen jail intake mugshot of Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime confidante and convicted accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein. The photograph comes from Maxwell’s July 2, 2020 arrest and had never circulated publicly until now.
The image surfaced as part of a sweeping disclosure by the U.S. Department of Justice, which released millions of pages of Epstein related materials on Friday. The disclosure was carried out under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law signed by Donald Trump in late 2025.
According to the Justice Department, the mugshot was located within a Joint Automated Booking System file documenting Maxwell’s federal detention. Alongside the front facing image, the file also includes a side profile photograph and booking details that had never been shared publicly.
