The long-running mystery surrounding the January 6 pipe bomber finally took a dramatic turn this week, yet the media’s reaction raised far more questions than answers. After nearly five years of stalled progress under Biden’s FBI, federal agents took a suspect into custody. What followed was a stunning moment on CNN that ignited outrage across social media.

Federal officials announced the arrest of 30-year-old Brian Cole Jr. of Woodbridge, Virginia, accusing him of planting explosive devices outside both the RNC and DNC offices on January 5, 2021. Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that Cole is now facing charges tied to transporting explosive material and attempting to destroy property. “Let me be clear: There was no new tip. There was no new witness. Just good, diligent police work and prosecutorial work,” Bondi stated.
Investigators said cell tower hits, credit card transactions for materials, and license plate reader images ultimately tied Cole to the crime scene. According to FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, agents zeroed in after connecting Cole’s phone activity to the areas where the bombs were planted. Purchases of pipes, timers, and related components allegedly strengthened the case.
