California Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell is once again making headlines—and not for policy solutions or leadership—but for a blistering, profanity-laced tirade aimed directly at federal immigration officers as he eyes the governor’s mansion.
During a campaign stop Saturday in Los Angeles, Swalwell escalated his rhetoric against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, openly calling them “assholes” and threatening to strip them of basic legal protections if he were to gain power. The remarks were delivered at a summit hosted by the far-left Empowerment Congress, an activist group long opposed to immigration enforcement.
Speaking to a cheering crowd, Swalwell made clear that his hostility toward ICE is not merely rhetorical but, in his view, something he intends to act on through state power.
“They’re going to lose their immunity. They’re not going to be able to drive. I will take your driver’s license,” Swalwell declared from the stage.
