The ex-vice president vehemently argued that President Trump lacks the decency and respect required to govern the country, pushing people to vote for someone else. “Want to see us and our politics return to the kind of civility and respect that Americans show one another every day.”

He continued by saying that he thought the GOP presidential race for 2024 will be won by a candidate with different language and leadership qualities than Trump. “I’m very confident that Republican primary voters are going to choose the right standard bearer for this moment in our nation’s history. Someone that can provide not only the policies in leadership but the style of leadership that will help bring our nation back,” Pence stated.

Pence did not rule out running for president in 2024 when asked whether he would. “I think by the spring our family expects to have a very clear sense of our calling.”
