Kari Lake, an Arizona candidate for U.S. Senate, had no intention of making public her allegations that insiders attempted to dissuade her from running, but she felt forced to do so after hearing a taped version of the conversation 11 months later.
The outspoken conservative disclosed her audacious decision to covertly record a conversation with former Arizona GOP chair Jeff DeWit nearly a year ago in a heated interview with Glenn Beck on Blaze TV.

“I didn’t want to release anything and I also didn’t listen to it. I taped it because I was afraid there was going to be a physical threat, and when there wasn’t I just kind of put, you know, the file away and never even dealt with it,” she told Beck.
At the Conservative Political Action Conference, Lake courageously shared the truth about being intimidated out of the Republican contest against Senator Kristen Sinema in a stirring speech. The shocking revelation that “very powerful people” in the “east” were willing to pay a huge sum of money to force her out was made public by a recent recording of her conversation with DeWit. Lake didn’t fully realize how sinister the offer was until she listened to the recording.
“I was eating dinner with my husband and my daughter was with us, and I happened to track it down, found it and hit play while we were eating dinner and literally, as vivid as I recalled it — and I think in my speech at CPAC I described it pretty well — our jaws dropped to the floor. We were shocked. I said oh my gosh, this is so much worse than I even remembered it,” she said.

DeWit gives up, threatening to release more manipulated recordings and accusing the Lake campaign of blackmail.
“I am truly unsure of its contents,” DeWit said of the alleged recording. “But considering our numerous past open conversations as friends, I have decided not to take the risk. I am resigning as Lake requested, in hope that she will honor her commitment to cease her attacks, allowing me to return to the business sector — a field I find much more logical and prefer over politics.”

Lake is now at the forefront of politics thanks to her contentious campaign, which has drawn attention from across the country. She has demonstrated a strong base of support by raising over $2 million in fundraising in a matter of days. Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and Lake are scheduled to face off as the general election draws near, setting up an exciting three-way contest against Sinema.
