A shocking act of street violence unfolded Sunday in Minneapolis when independent journalist Nick Sortor, known for his pro-Trump reporting, was targeted during what should have been a routine filming session. The incident, captured on video, highlights growing concerns over public safety, political intimidation, and the increasingly hostile environment facing conservative reporters in Democrat-run cities.
According to footage from the scene, Sortor was sitting behind the wheel of his vehicle in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood when a masked woman suddenly lunged at him and ripped a professional camera—worth roughly $1,000—straight out of his hands. The attack happened in seconds, leaving no time for reaction or defense.
Rather than fleeing immediately, the suspect ran toward a nearby vehicle. Sortor instinctively jumped out of his car and pursued the thief in an effort to recover his equipment. What happened next was even more alarming.
As the suspects sped off, Sortor’s hand became trapped in the door handle of the getaway vehicle. He was violently dragged down the street before finally breaking free, narrowly avoiding serious injury—or worse.
