In an emotional and deeply moving interview with Fox News, Erika Kirk — the wife of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk — opened up for the first time about the devastating moment she learned her husband had been shot and killed while speaking with students at Utah Valley University on September 10.
Erika, who serves as CEO of Turning Point USA, described the harrowing sequence of events that forever changed her family’s life. During the broadcast with host Jesse Watters, she recalled that she had just finished watching a video of her husband tossing hats into a cheering crowd moments before his speech began.
“And I said, Mom, look, it started. So we saw the hats being flung. I put my phone down, and it was on silent. So I had no reason to look back at it,” she said.
Just minutes later, her phone began to ring — repeatedly. On the other end was Turning Point staff member Mikey McCoy, calling with the unthinkable news.
