Was Nancy Pelosi In On It?

The January 6 select committee eventually made a long-awaited report available to the public on the night of Christmas. The timing of this so-called “news dump,” which is typical when authorities want to minimize controversial data, prompted rumors about its intent and brought to light concerns about its contents that many people still have today.

The 845-page report was a laborious recounting of incidents intended to portray Donald Trump as the mastermind of an attempted coup. Despite a wealth of witness evidence, it seems designed to persuade readers to accept predetermined results. Page after page conjured up dramatic imagery intended to bolster its assertions and scare anybody who happened to be watching, regardless of their political views.

The 845-page report tells the story of President Trump as the main antagonist in a long-running, intriguing storyline “insurrection” The committee attempted to influence public opinion by interpreting witness testimony persuasively in the hopes that their theatrical presentation would secure their desired result—the President’s prolonged time in office. Page after page revealed an attempt to falsify testimony and arrive at preconceived conclusions.

Although law enforcement and intelligence services were well aware of the potential for violence on January 6, 2021—so much so that they created a special threat tag to classify related information—”CERTUNREST2021″—they utterly failed to stop what has been referred to by Biden’s administration as “a terror attack comparable to 9/11.” Before the incident, the government committee in charge made commitments, but an examination of how they were broken is consigned to only one item in an appendix. Additionally, FBI Director Christopher Wray is not mentioned once in the report and was not questioned about his actions on or after this awful day.

Nevertheless, committee members criticized Trump despite enough proof that such agencies were on high alert: “Few in law enforcement predicted that the President of the United States would incite a mob attack on the Capitol, that he would send them to stop the joint session knowing they were armed and dangerous, that he would further incite them against his own vice President while the attack was underway, or that he would do nothing to stop the assault for hours,” The report made false claims.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was given a clean pass by congressional investigators and permitted to write her own preface in their final report despite being in charge of Capitol security. Uncertainty surrounds whether or not she was ever interviewed.

Nancy Pelosi has pretended to be innocent about the events of January 6 for the last two years, although she was categorically in charge of their happening. It seemed as if this “ceremonial” event had been planned from the beginning since she had neglected to maintain safety on Capitol Hill and her filmmaker daughter just so happened to be there.

The House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was the subject of conflicting reports last week; one cleared her of any misconduct and the other indicted her. The latter came from a surprising source—a number of Republicans in the exact same chamber she is the leader of! “Security Failures at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021” fresh information regarding the weeks that Pelosi’s team reportedly spent preparing for the electoral certification vote that afternoon. “[Then] House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving—who served on the Capitol Police Board by virtue of his position—succumbed to political pressures from the Office of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leadership leading up to January 6, 2021,” the findings of the study written by Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), James Banks (R-Indiana), and others.  “He coordinated closely with the Speaker and her staff and left Republicans out of important discussions related to security. Irving only provided information to Republicans after receiving instruction from the Speaker’s office. In one case, Irving even asked a senior Democratic staffer to ‘act surprised’ when he sent key information about plans for the Joint Session on January 6, 2021 to him and his Republican counterpart. The senior Democratic staffer replied: ‘I’m startled.’” Jordan and Banks were dropped by Pelosi from the select committee on January 6 after being nominated to it.

To prepare for the events on January 6th, Irving kept in regular communication with two of Nancy Pelosi’s senior staffers. Around December 2020, Terry McCullough, her chief of staff, and Jamie Flood from the House Administration Committee and Speaker Pelosi’s team were in constant discussion about what would transpire on that crucial day.

McCullough contacted Irving’s team on December 11 in an effort to facilitate a conversation on an unnamed subject. “choreography and safety for the opening day and electoral college events.” The Democrats met the next week to discuss their strategies without the Republicans present.

Irving and his team convened a last talk on January 6 after many meetings with Democratic employees, but something was still lacking. Republican senators were surprisingly left out, which raised concerns as to why they weren’t included in the meetings that morning despite more alarming information being released in subsequent reports.

Irving and Nancy Pelosi had a private meeting in her office on January 4, 2021. According to a letter explaining the situation that was sent out barely 24 hours later, the two were apparently discussing ways to combat the epidemic and proposed stringent restrictions on Capitol Hill for people visiting the House floor on Wednesday, January 6!

A significant meeting on January 5 marked the start of a significant day in American history. In order to prepare for what lied ahead that fateful afternoon, Senator Irving joined forces with Sergeant-at-Arms Stenger and other representatives at 8:30 AM for a tour of the Capitol Building. Little did they realize how influential this gathering would become. Later, around 1:15 PM, Stenger led yet another unauthorized tour without so much as requesting Republican staff or politicians to join them.

Despite initial assurances of calm, events took an unsettling turn at almost the same hour the next day, as members departed Capitol Hill in the middle of some of January 6th’s most iconic moments.

Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund pleaded for National Guardsmen’s assistance during the chaos of January 6 in order to defend against possible threat. Sergeants-at-Arms Paul Irving and Michael Stenger repeatedly disregarded his calls, citing “optics” as their first priority. Guards did not finally come until after 5 p.m., when the incident stopped.

There have been efforts to attribute the events of January 6 on Capitol security’s lack of readiness, but new information has shown that the situation was more complicated than first thought. There were discussions between Speaker Pelosi’s staff before to the demonstration that precluded Republican engagement, according to the House GOP report and a hidden addendum in the select committee document. What these pertinent talks contained is still unclear as more information comes to light, adding to the mystery surrounding this historic event.

On January 7, the inexplicable resignations of Irving, Stenger, and Sund raised concerns about the political scheming that was taking on right in front of our eyes. Trump’s Capitol rebellion sparked fury from all sides of the political spectrum, but only Republican members pressed for their removal, leading some to wonder whether these three were just “choreographed” in an attempt to remove Trump and prosecute his movement. What role did they voluntarily play? And why didn’t lawmakers look into the details of their departure more thoroughly? What will happen next as this odd drama develops can only be determined with time.

The reality surrounding January 6 is coming to light more and more clearly: House Republicans established a committee that was far from an honest attempt to get information, instead seeking merely to keep the circumstances surrounding that day secret. They encountered resistance, however, in the shape of the report from their more detailed peers, which needs to get the attention it deserves in 2021.
