But a number of Democrats told NBC News that they were unhappy with how the president handled the Israel-Hamas conflict and some of his most significant legislative achievements.

“Nothing has touched me when it comes to Biden at all that I can say, at least, ‘Yeah, there was a trickle-down,’” New Jersey Democrat Dionne Holt, who voted for Biden in 2020, told the outlet.

Despite the fact that Trump has been out of office for more than three years, Holt maintained that she still did not think he was “good for the country” and that her assessment of his presidency had not changed.

Some who think that Biden’s presidency has gone above and beyond what they expected cite the administration’s stand against Trump, the passage of legislation to address climate change and upgrade US infrastructure, and the improvement in the country’s economy that followed the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the other hand, Trump’s administration was commended by Republican voters for its sound economic growth and stable foreign policy.

“I think the economy was growing and the country was secure. Well, we had the border, and we had no wars, we had no wars with the other foreign countries,” one Illinois Republican in his mid-50s told NBC.

Independent voters and registered Democrats praised Trump’s performance on immigration and the economy, saying his administration went above and beyond what was expected.

The 45th president’s personal character, his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and his actions leading up to the Capitol riot were among the main reasons given by registered voters for classifying his administration as “worse than expected.”

From January 26 to 30, NBC polled 1,000 registered voters, allowing for a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
