On Sunday night, she published a passionate statement on social media, pushing back against those who claimed her father would disapprove of Trump using footage from Full Metal Jacket in his message.
Stanley Kubrick, hailed as one of the greatest directors of all time, is behind iconic films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, and Full Metal Jacket. While primarily known for directing, Kubrick also wrote and produced many of these groundbreaking films. His daughter, Vivian, is an artist in her own right, having composed the score for Full Metal Jacket and directing the documentary The Making of The Shining.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted a video that juxtaposed scenes from boot camp in Full Metal Jacket with footage of drag queens dancing in today’s U.S. military. The president’s tweet read: “WE WILL NOT HAVE A WOKE MILITARY!”
