Video Shows Leftist Pepper-Spraying Journalist Mid-Ride!

A violent clash on a SEPTA bus in downtown Philadelphia this week is drawing fresh attention to the growing pattern of political harassment and street-level intimidation aimed at conservatives—and it all unfolded in broad daylight on a moving city bus.

Independent journalist Frank Scales, a conservative reporter with SurgePhilly, says he was pepper-sprayed and physically attacked by what he described as a left-wing agitator while simply riding home. Scales posted video and a detailed account of the incident on X, calling the assault unprovoked and politically motivated.

According to Scales, the confrontation began with him doing nothing more than looking out the window and staying to himself. But he claims the woman seated behind him suddenly erupted, shouting accusations and escalating tensions without warning.

In the video posted online, Scales identified the woman as Paulina Reyes, calling her a “known ANTIFA agitator.” Scales also noted that Reyes previously had a connection to local media, saying she is a former intern at WHYYNews.

WHYY later addressed the incident, acknowledging the situation and attempting to distance itself from Reyes. The outlet said the two “knew each other while both served in student leadership positions at Community College of Philadelphia, evidenced by photographs and video that show them together.”
