Trump Unleashes Tom Homan on Minneapolis

“Separately, a major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets,” he continued.

Trump also confirmed that the Justice Department and Congress are examining the conduct and finances of Rep. Ilhan Omar, a longtime critic of ICE and border enforcement.

“Additionally, the DOJ and Congress are looking at ‘Congresswoman’ Illhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars. Time will tell all,” he added.

The White House has not said whether Homan’s arrival reflects dissatisfaction with current ICE leadership in the state, but officials emphasized that the move is about coordination and control as the situation deteriorates.

“Tom Homan will be managing ICE operations on the ground in Minnesota and coordinating with others on the ongoing fraud investigations,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital.

Homan’s deployment comes amid weeks of escalating chaos tied to immigration enforcement in the Twin Cities. Protests have repeatedly erupted near ICE operations, sometimes turning violent. Two anti ICE activists, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, were killed by federal agents earlier this month during separate incidents. Pretti’s death remains under investigation.

Federal officials say the unrest has had serious and lasting consequences. During one violent protest last week, an ICE agent was permanently injured after a protester bit off part of his finger. Authorities say the attack occurred as agents attempted to carry out a targeted arrest.

U.S. Border Patrol Commander at Large Greg Bovino described the incident during a Sunday press conference, saying agents were forced to abandon the operation as crowds swarmed the scene.

According to Bovino, officers were assaulted, surrounded, and overwhelmed, allowing a suspect to escape custody.

“This individual is still roaming the streets today,” Bovino said. “This individual walks the streets today because of those choices made by politicians and those, perhaps, weaker minded constituents that chose to follow directions of those politicians. Sad state of affairs.”

The Trump administration has repeatedly blamed organized agitators and activist politicians for encouraging confrontation with federal law enforcement. Officials insist that ICE operations in Minnesota are focused on criminal illegal aliens, not random enforcement actions as critics often claim.

By sending Homan directly into the center of the unrest, Trump appears determined to reassert federal authority and remove any ambiguity about who is in charge. Supporters see the move as long overdue, arguing that political obstruction and permissive leadership have allowed chaos to spiral out of control.

With investigations expanding, federal agents injured, and protests continuing, Minnesota has become a flashpoint in the national immigration debate. Trump’s decision to place Tom Homan on the ground signals that the administration is no longer willing to manage the crisis from Washington.

For better or worse, the next phase of enforcement in the Twin Cities will now be run directly from the Oval Office.
