Trump Unleashes Tom Homan on Minneapolis

President Donald Trump escalated his administration’s response to the growing unrest in Minnesota on Monday by deploying former ICE Director and Border Czar Tom Homan directly to the Twin Cities. The move signals a sharp turn toward hands on federal enforcement as immigration operations in Minneapolis and St. Paul continue to trigger violent protests and political backlash.

Trump announced the decision himself, making clear that Homan will answer only to the president and will personally oversee Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity on the ground. The announcement also came with a stunning expansion of federal scrutiny into Minnesota’s political leadership and welfare system.

“I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight. He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there. Tom is tough but fair, and will report directly to me,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

The president framed Homan’s deployment as part of a broader effort to restore order and accountability in a state he claims has been destabilized by corruption and activist interference. According to Trump, federal investigators are already digging into what he described as a massive welfare fraud operation that has drained billions from taxpayers.
