Trump to Illegals: LEAVE or PAY BIG

In a major move to crack down on illegal immigration, the Trump administration has announced plans to fine illegal immigrants who fail to leave the U.S. after receiving deportation orders. This new measure, which could result in penalties of up to $998 per day, aims to hold illegal immigrants accountable for overstaying their deportation orders.

“The message is clear: Illegal aliens should use the CBP Home app to self-deport and leave the country now. If they don’t, they will face the consequences,” said Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), during an interview with Fox News. “This includes a fine of $998 per day for every day that the illegal alien overstayed their final deportation order.”

The fines are based on a law from 1996, which has largely gone unenforced until now. However, under the Trump administration, this law is being applied more aggressively. The new policy could potentially impose retroactive fines for up to five years, leading to penalties that may exceed $1 million for those who remain in the country illegally.
