Trump to Allies: “Learn to Fight for Yourself!”

President Donald Trump signaled a dramatic shift in U.S. foreign policy this week, suggesting America may step back from its military posture in the Middle East and leave key allies to confront Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz on their own. The remarks come after repeated efforts by the Trump administration to rally international support reportedly fell flat, particularly among NATO partners and Asian allies.

According to Trump, those nations declined to assist in securing one of the world’s most critical oil chokepoints. Now, the former president appears ready to draw a hard line. In a blunt warning issued Monday, Trump made clear that countries unwilling to stand alongside the United States should not expect continued American protection.

“The U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us,” Trump said in a statement. He went further, suggesting those nations could turn to American energy exports if they lacked the resolve to confront Iran directly. He urged them to “build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT.”
