President Donald Trump is used to taking fire from the media. But this time, the pressure isn’t coming from Democrats or cable news pundits. It’s coming from inside his own political base.

During a sit-down interview with Tony Dokoupil, Trump was pressed on a question that has been bubbling up among conservatives for months: Is his aggressive foreign policy agenda distracting from unfinished business at home?
The question itself carried an assumption many Trump supporters reject outright—that the President can only focus on one front at a time. Trump clearly wasn’t buying it.
The reality, as his allies point out, is that Trump’s return to the White House has produced simultaneous wins across the board. Border chaos that defined the previous administration has been replaced by enforcement. Illegal crossings are down sharply, ICE operations are expanding, and interior enforcement is back in full force.
At the same time, the economy is showing signs of renewed strength. Real wages are rising. Inflation has cooled. Trump’s tariff strategy is shrinking the trade deficit and forcing companies to bring jobs back to American soil instead of outsourcing them overseas. Economic growth is accelerating, and markets continue to post record highs.
