In a sharp critique of the Biden administration’s latest border security measures, former President Donald Trump has vehemently argued that these new policies will only exacerbate the ongoing border crisis. President Joe Biden recently signed an executive order aimed at curbing illegal crossings at the southern border. This directive permits the closure of the border between ports of entry if illegal crossings exceed an average of 2,500 per day, a threshold currently being met, according to Politico.
Under this new order, the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, has the authority to reopen the border should illegal crossings decrease to below 1,500 per day for a consecutive week. President Biden attributes the escalating border situation to global challenges including political instability, natural disasters, and severe economic conditions. In his words, “As a result of these global conditions, we have been experiencing substantial levels of migration throughout the Western Hemisphere, including at our southwest land border.”

Reacting to Biden’s announcement, Trump expressed his disdain on Truth Social, claiming, “Millions of people have poured into our country — and now, after nearly four years of his failed, weak, pathetic leadership, Crooked Joe Biden is pretending to finally do something about the border. But in fact, it’s all about show because he knows we have a debate coming up in three weeks.” Trump further accused Biden of “secretly granting amnesty to hundreds of thousands of these illegal aliens,” alongside offering them welfare, government benefits, work permits, and jobs.

What about us, the United States Citizens? What about us, President Biden, you opened the borders up and mostly what I see are military age men coming through. When they kill, steal, rape etc. then what? You aren’t protecting us, what about those who voted for you, don’t they get protection from illegal aliens? Our cities, schools, parks are not safe today.
