President Donald Trump pulled back the curtain on what he said was one of Charlie Kirk’s last appeals before the conservative leader’s shocking murder earlier this month.
Speaking to tens of thousands of supporters at a memorial event in Glendale, Arizona, Trump told the crowd that Kirk urged his administration to “save Chicago.” Kirk, who grew up in the city’s suburbs, reportedly wanted Trump to restore order to the crime-ravaged city that has become a symbol of lawlessness under Democrat rule.
Trump Honors Kirk’s Courage
Trump praised the Turning Point USA founder with heartfelt words that struck deep with the audience.
“We owe Charlie a profound and eternal debt of gratitude,” Trump declared.
He didn’t mince words about the nature of the killing either:
“Charles James Kirk was heinously murdered by a radicalized leftist for speaking the truth that was in his heart. He was violently killed because he spoke for freedom and justice, for God, touched for reason and for common sense. He was assassinated because he lived bravely.”
