The White House moved swiftly Tuesday to shut down yet another wild media narrative—this time a claim from MS NOW alleging President Donald Trump was preparing to oust FBI Director Kash Patel. Instead of panic, the story was met with laughter inside the Oval Office, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Leavitt took to X to torch the report, declaring the article was “completely made up” and insisting the claim had no basis in reality. She said Trump’s reaction made it immediately clear just how ridiculous the rumor was.
According to Leavitt, she was standing in the Oval Office with both Trump and Patel at the exact moment the MS NOW story went live. The President’s response? Amusement—and a photo op. Trump reportedly grabbed Patel for a quick snapshot, both men smiling and flashing Trump’s signature thumbs-up pose.
Leavitt shared the image online along with Trump’s instant reaction to the report. “What? That’s totally false. Come on, Kash, let’s take a picture to show them you’re doing a great job!” Trump said.
