Biden behind Trump by 4 points in key swing states, according to a new poll
President Joe Biden is presently trailing former President Donald Trump by a margin of 43% to 47% among voters in a number of important swing states, according to a new study by Bloomberg and Morning Consult. Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are the states that are covered by the poll. The study had a margin of error of just 1% and included more than 5,000 registered voters.
When third-party candidates are taken into account, Biden’s poll numbers continue to decline, and he now behind Trump by 10 points among independent voters in seven important swing states. In a head-to-head comparison, Biden trails by 8 points.
On several fronts, President Biden’s government and image are struggling. A toll is being paid by international conflicts, a weak economy, and a deteriorating migratory issue. With both Biden and Trump having their fair share of baggage, swing states hold the key to determining the outcome as Election Day draws near.
Voters in crucial states are obscuring President Trump’s four criminal charges. Arizona, which barely supported Biden in 2020, now supports Trump by 4 points. Georgia, a state that Biden also narrowly won, presently has President Trump leading by 5%. By a margin of around 3%, Michigan’s diverse electorate switched from Trump to Biden in 2016, although the two candidates are currently tied in the polls.
Swing state voters largely support President Trump over Vice President Biden because they think he will be able to handle the economy well. In actuality, 51% of these people concur with this view, while just 35% think Biden would be more effective. Even more starkly divided are independents, where President Trump has a commanding 22 percent lead.
“Right now, Biden is not getting any credit for work he’s done on the economy,” affirmed Morning Consult vice president and pollster Caroline Bye. “Almost twice as many voters in the swing states are saying that Bidenomics is bad for the economy, as opposed to good for the economy, which is a really startling fact if you’re the Biden campaign.”
