New polling data from pivotal swing states, representing 43 electoral votes, suggests that Donald Trump is gaining momentum in the race against Vice President Kamala Harris. With just over a year until the 2024 election, the latest surveys released by Quinnipiac and Emerson show the former president taking the lead in several key states, while the race tightens in others.
According to the polls, Trump is ahead of Harris in North Carolina, Georgia, and Arizona. The race is neck-and-neck in Pennsylvania, where both candidates are currently tied. If these numbers hold, Trump would be on track to win 262 electoral votes, putting significant pressure on Harris to win Michigan and Wisconsin while also pulling off a victory in Pennsylvania—a daunting task according to the latest data reported by the New York Post.

In North Carolina, Trump holds a slim lead over Harris, with 49% of voters supporting the former president compared to Harris’s 47%, according to Quinnipiac’s poll. Trump’s edge in the state largely comes from male voters and white voters without college degrees, two key demographics that have long formed the backbone of the GOP base. Among men, Trump has secured 59% of the vote, while 66% of white voters without college degrees support him.
