When former President Trump announced his support for Rep. Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House, MAGA fans were taken aback and questioned why he would openly back someone who appeared to be more Establishment-aligned than they had anticipated.
President Trump looks to be supporting Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House, maybe not out of a personal liking for him but more as a comrade in the fight against Mitch McConnell and other Capitol Hill RINOs.

On social media lately, President Trump posted a video of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy praising his leadership for the triumph. Mr. Trump noted how efforts from all sides ultimately resulted in success in this attempt in an additional post.
Although Kevin did an excellent job, we must take action against Mitch McConnell and Coco Chow. If only 10 days had been given to take into account revisions from our now “United Republican Congress” this Measure might have been much improved or perhaps prevented. The $1.7 trillion bill enacted by the Democrats last week shamelessly disregarded US border security concerns. Let’s utilize our freedom as American citizens and remove McConnell and his linked senators from office since it is obvious that action has to be taken!
That tweet makes sense in light of his McCarthy-related postings during the Speaker voting, in which he urged Republicans to concentrate on defeating Mitch McConnell rather than rift the party over Kevin McCarthy. He said things like:
“If Republicans are going to fight, we ought to be fighting Mitch McConnell and his domineering, China loving BOSS, I mean wife, Coco Chow. The harm they have done to the Republican Party is incalculable. Today, he couldn’t be elected “Dog Catcher” in Kentucky (Sadly, he only won because of my Endorsement, went up 21 points – SORRY!).”
Recent criticism directed at the Republican establishment and the legacy media came from President Trump. He criticized The New York Times while also criticizing late-night programs for using him as a joke.
Regarding the New York Times, Trump said “Remember when the lightweight and perennially wrong Failing New York Times Columnist Paul Krugman predicted that the Stock Markets and U.S. Economy would CRASH while I was in office. Well, he was 100% wrong, again. But it did later crash, as Inflation lifted it’s ugly head, after I was out – Self inflicted wounds all! If you sold the day I left, you would have made a “fortune!” Next time, when I leave, SELL…And don’t listen to dopey Paul Krugman.”
Trump then said in the article regarding the late-night programs “Wow, those TRUMP Hating Late Night Network “Shows” are doing really badly…The worst ratings that those time slots have had (in Television History!). Why are the untalented fools who “host” paid so much? Does the DNC make a $contribution as a wing of the Democrat Party? They are all a total joke – Not Talent, No Laughs!“
