Trump Back on Ballot: Judges Drop Major News!

A court appointed by former President Obama dismissed a complaint that sought to keep former President Donald Trump off the ballot in Florida in 2024, giving him yet another legal triumph.

The lawsuit against Trump was immediately rejected by Judge Robin Rosenberg on the grounds that the plaintiffs lacked standing to file it. Trump was accused of breaking the 14th Amendment by instigating a riot during the Capitol protests on January 6, 2021, according to the lawsuit. Instead of addressing the core of the argument, Judge Rosenberg found that lawyers Lawrence Caplan and two others lacked the essential legal standing to oppose Trump.

“Plaintiffs lack standing to challenge Defendant’s qualifications for seeking the Presidency,” Rosenberg wrote, adding that “the injuries alleged” from the insurrection on Capitol Hill more than two years ago “are not cognizable and not particular to them.” She added “an individual citizen does not have standing to challenge whether another individual is qualified to hold public office.”

Caplan previously told USA Today that he thought he had good grounds to contest his lawsuit, but he chose not to comment on Thursday’s decision. This was because he cannot assert harm from being on the ballot with President Trump because he is not a Florida candidate. He yet adamantly insists that President Trump should be removed from office because of his unavoidably controversial involvement in the J6 incidents.

“The 14th amendment is very clear that you do not need a conviction. You need to be accused and obviously there has to be a rationale for the accusation,” Caplan said at the time. “I read the amendment and I read the facts of the indictment, and they match very closely.”

In order to prevent the rebirth of slavery, the 14th Amendment, which was included in the Constitution during Reconstruction after the Civil War, grants citizenship to everyone born on American soil and guarantees “equal protection under the laws” to all people.

Donald Trump’s campaign in New Hampshire has been questioned in the wake of a challenge from unknown Texas presidential contender John Anthony Castro. Trump allegedly doesn’t match the requirements to be on the state’s ballot, according to the challenge. Republican Attorney General of New Hampshire John Formella is now studying Judge Rosenberg’s ruling and will soon offer his own assessment on the situation.

Despite being the subject of four criminal indictments, President Trump’s popularity is surging, and his opponents are turning to extreme tactics to stop him from winning re-election. There are worries that if Trump maintains breaching the accepted political standards, his opponents may even contemplate taking drastic measures, such as targeting his life. Recent polls show Trump leading President Joe Biden in a direct race.
