“A train has derailed in the Houston area,” Citizens Free Press reported. “Officials report the train was carrying “hazardous materials, prompting Union Pacific to monitor air quality at the site of the crash, according to the Splendora Police Department.””

Northeast of Houston saw a tragedy on Monday morning when a truck driver was killed and many freight trains derailed as a consequence of the collision.
Cleveland and Splendora were shaken on Monday morning by a devastating collision between an 18-wheeler and Union Pacific train. A hazardous materials team was promptly sent by Union Pacific to check the air quality for safety after the incident at Interstate 69/U.S. 59 at Fostoria & Midline roads, according to Lt. Troy Teller, who also reported that 21 cars were derailed.
100 gallons of diesel fuel were leaked as a result of the mishap, and Union Pacific employees are responding to the site under the direction of spokeswoman Robynn Tysver. They will keep working until everything is in order and the environment has been securely restored to its previous state.
Authorities are making every effort to determine what caused a tragic train accident that happened on Monday morning. There were further doubts about why this fatal occurrence occurred since there were no railroad crossing arms at the junction, just a railroad yield sign.
“The 18-wheeler was attempting to cross that section when he made contact with the train,” Teller said. “It’s undetermined whether the horn was blown or not.”
