Tom Hanks just dropped a revelation that has Hollywood executives squirming — and Disney looking especially embarrassed.

The legendary actor appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to celebrate Toy Story’s 30th anniversary, but what he revealed shocked everyone listening. According to Hanks, the movie that made Pixar a household name almost never saw the light of day — because of Disney’s own disastrous meddling.
Disney’s “Edgy” Demand That Backfired Spectacularly
Hanks told Colbert something fans never knew:
“Actually, it was more than 30 years, because Tim Allen and I and everybody involved, we recorded a Toy Story movie, about 80 minutes of it that was completely thrown out,” Hanks said.
That’s right. Disney forced Pixar to toss nearly an entire finished version of the film in the trash. The reason? Executives insisted the movie needed to be “edgier.”
Studio bosses reportedly wanted the toys to act “wisecrack-y,” to “improv and insult each other and come up with goofy things.” The result was a complete trainwreck.
