Tim Walz Just Got VERY Bad News

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Shortly after Melugin’s report, The Washington Post disclosed that both Walz and Frey have received or are expected to receive subpoenas as part of the investigation. According to the outlet, the subpoenas were scheduled to be served Friday, citing “people familiar with the probe.” Neither Walz nor Frey has confirmed receipt of a subpoena as of publication.

Walz Claims Political Targeting

Governor Walz wasted little time responding publicly, portraying the investigation as a politically motivated attack and attempting to draw comparisons to other high profile federal cases.

“Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic,” Walz posted on X.

“The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.”

The statement raised eyebrows, given Walz’s vocal support for Biden era prosecutions targeting President Trump and his allies. Critics say Walz is now objecting only because the spotlight has turned on him.

Shooting Incident Sparks Federal State Showdown

The investigation unfolds against the backdrop of rapidly escalating tensions following the death of Renee Good, an anti ICE activist who was shot and killed during a confrontation with federal agents.

According to law enforcement accounts, Good was part of a local “ICE watch” group and was actively using her vehicle to block federal agents during an operation. Authorities say she accelerated toward an agent, who fired his weapon while standing directly in front of the vehicle.

Video footage from multiple angles reportedly shows the agent in the vehicle’s path at the moment shots were fired.

Despite that evidence, both Walz and Frey immediately dismissed the possibility of self defense.

Frey and Democrats Rush to Condemn ICE

Within roughly an hour of the shooting, Frey held a press conference where he angrily rejected claims that the agent acted in self defense. He described those claims as “bull****” and told ICE to “get the f*** out of Minneapolis.”

Walz quickly joined in, along with former Vice President Kamala Harris, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and numerous Democratic officials who claimed they had “seen the video” before accusing ICE of murder.

Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan echoed those accusations during a CNN appearance, even floating the possibility that Minnesota could pursue state charges against the federal officer.

Walz later escalated his rhetoric further, declaring that Minnesota is “at war” with the federal government over immigration enforcement.

Legal Fallout Now Closing In

Federal officials have not publicly detailed the scope of the DOJ probe, but legal experts say the investigation likely centers on whether public statements and actions by state and local leaders crossed the line into obstruction or interference with federal law enforcement.

The use of inflammatory language, public threats, and calls to resist ICE operations could now become central evidence as investigators determine whether Walz and Frey used their offices to undermine federal authority.

What began as a political shouting match has rapidly evolved into a serious legal battle, one that could carry criminal consequences for Minnesota’s top Democratic officials.

As subpoenas move forward and the investigation deepens, the question is no longer whether the confrontation with ICE was reckless rhetoric. The question now is whether it was criminal.
