Swalwell’s China Money Scandal Just Exploded

California Democrat Eric Swalwell is once again facing serious questions about his judgment and foreign entanglements after his gubernatorial campaign accepted thousands of dollars from a Chinese law firm with extensive ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

Campaign finance records show Swalwell’s campaign for California governor accepted a $9,999 donation on December 30 from DeHeng Law Offices PC, a firm whose origins trace directly back to the Chinese government itself.

The contribution immediately raised red flags, particularly because DeHeng’s California presence appears to consist of just one attorney, yet the firm has poured nearly $15,000 into Swalwell’s political ambitions in recent months.

One Lawyer, Big Money, Bigger Questions

That sole attorney is Keliang “Clay” Zhu, who has a long history of donating to Swalwell. Zhu previously contributed $5,000 to Swalwell’s governor campaign in November, along with more than $10,000 to Swalwell’s congressional campaigns in prior election cycles.
